All in all it was an excellent performance, they covered their regular songs with the skill and timing which they have shown us time and time again that they are capable of.
And as usual, Darby kept the crowd hyped up as much as possible.
What really impressed me tonight however, was not the songs and perfomances which they have shown themselves more than capable of delivering each time they perform, The only one which I didnt think was up to the calibur of the rest of their performances was Chop Suey. but I think that is largely due to the difficulty of the song, as it is so difficult to make it your own.
After hearing Cold played live I was mezmerised by it.... though I was quite manic, and I've not had a lot of sleep recently ;-) but its not often that a song can make me delirious. Not only did it sound clearer live, but you could almost touch the emotion and feelings in the atmosphere of the crowd, during the calm points of the song, you could see almost everyone stop moving and just stare blindly at the stage.
A rare piece of song writing, mated with vocal agility and a band full of people highly skilled at playing their instrument of choice.
The other song that I thought they performed bloody awesome was their cover of Avenged Sevenfold - Bat Country, which to me sounded a hell of a lot better than the original..... Im listening to the original now, and to me they just dont manage to put as much raw emotion and enjoyment into the song. You can tell that SD love doing what they do just by the amount of effort they put into each and every song they perform.
Roll on thursday, i'll write another review after that.
Superb performance lads!
